Help! Dishwasher is leaving cloudy film/residue on dishes?
Question:I have a BRAND NEW dishwasher. I use rinse aid and my dishes still come out with a cloudy film on them. I'm using gelpacks as detergent. Could that be the source of the cloudy film?
Answers:
Either use a commercial rinse aid such as Jet-Dri or put a little white vinegar in during the final rinse cycle. It is usually caused by hard water unless there are permanent spots called "etching". If etching is your problem you will have to buy new dishes and glasses, then use a dishwasher detergent that prevents etching (Cascade has one).
We had to buy a soft water tank before my cloudy film would go away. The water wear we live is just too hard.
this is what worked best for me after i tried many products cascade complete for automatic washers. use one to two teaspoons and your hotest water setting
id say its one of three things, either your water i too hard, in which case you should get a softener, you should change your detergent or you should try putting the dishwasher on its hottest cycle to clean the inside of the machine out
good luck!
