What is the best way to make an old bathtub sparkle?
Question:I live in an apartment and I clean my tub regularly. Today I did a little spring cleaning. I sprayed my tub with scrubbing bubbles and let it sit for 10 minutes. Then I scrubbed it with a sponge. Then I filled it up with hot water and added bleach. I let it soak. After I released the water, the tub looked white and clean. It doesn't have that sparkle. I am moving out in a month and the bathtub has to sparkle so I don't have any additional charges.

Try the Mr. Clean foaming sponge, they do wonders.:)
I know it sounds crazy but get some olive oil and a wash cloth and wipe down the sides real good before you leave, don't use too much and rub it in good. Make sure you don't put any on the bottom (floor) of the tub so the new tenants don't slip.
You might want to try it on a small spot before you do the whole tub to make sure you like the results.
I do this on my kitchen sink and it really sparkles.
It even works wonders on the faucets too!
HTH!
An apartment housecleaning lady once told me she used Off fume free oven cleaner on the tile and porcelain tubs (not the kind with a fiberglass surround or tub) and lets it set the recommended time and wipes it down, then she puts lemon furniture polish on the tiles and shines it up. It helps sheet off water spots temporarily too. I'm thinking you could clean it with the Off fume free oven cleaner then use some of that dishwasher rinse aid to rinse it down. Also I think car wax on tiles would help sheet off water on the tile walls.
