How do I get the smell of milk out of my car boot carpet, bearing in mind the carpet doesnt come out?
Question:I had 6 x 6pint milk containers in the boot and one decided to half empty into my boot. Any ideas on getting rid of the smell?

You can still clean auto carpet that does not come out, with a portable steam cleaner. I would first borrow or rent one and clean the carpet , then spray it with an odor neutralizer, not a spray that masks odors but a neutralizer. Another spray that works well on stinky car carpets is Febreze for autos, I don't know if that one is a neutralizer or just a freshener. I do know it works though.

Sprinkle it with bicarbonate of soda. Leave for a day, then hoover out.
It's cheap and won't stain.

Get a small carpet shampooer(walmart or kmart or online-google it) & shampoo it. Or spray it with Resolve carpet shampoo(with the scrubber end on can) & vacuum when dry.

Seriously. I'm a klutz, I drop the stinkiest, spoil-happy things all the time. But a bottle of cheap wine, shake it up, and shoot it out on whatever stinks, make sure it's a super sunny hot day though. Leave the doors open if you can, but if not, open the windows and sit on the hood of your car to make sure no one steals it! Good luck!
Rent a steam cleaner and clean it. The cleaning solvent should come with it.
First odor ban to clean, then, I found the perfect product that I've used for years and know dozens of other people that use it. It is a product called FRIDGE IT carbon odor absorbers. It is a little purple cube with an incredible activated carbon filter inside that is really, really, great. The carbon literally absorbs and eliminates the odors and works for a long time. It works so much better than all those sprays and fragrances that just cover up smells and doesn't get rid of them. Also, alot of sprays have warning statements about being eye irritant. and gels and oils that say keep away from fabric, etc. and just don't eliminate odors. Just put a couple of these in car and trunk. I use this product everywhere including car(smoke and pet smells), storage, closets, my fridge and also under sinks, near trash and have friends that use it on cat litter box and also diaper pails - it's that good. I really recommend it. You can buy it in kitchen gadget sections in stores like walmart and linens and things. I also think camping world sells it. Definitely worth trying
