On my dryer machine, what do the different settings mean? Which is the lowest setting? Sorry, i'm a dumb guy.
Question:There are four different setting.
1) Knit/Delicate 2) Perm't press cotton/Sturdy 3) Timed and 4) Air
I'm assuming "Air" would be the lowest setting, but then Knit delicate might be too. Which is it?
Answers:
air is no heat
Knit is the lowest heat.
Then Perm/sturdy
Then timed.
Knit is going to be the wet-est dry setting. Middle will stop the dryer when the sensor feels they are dry enough. Timer is just that, it will stop weather the are dry or not, or if you want them damp so you can iron. Air is just to freshen clothes that are dry but wrinkled.
Knit is the lowest setting with heat. Air just circulates air throughout the dryer.
1) Knit/Delicate: use for light or delicate material, or for clothes that are very slightly damp.
2) Perm't press cotton/Sturdy: use for permanent press, cotton fabrics or heavy clothes.
3) Timed: use for when you want to dry your clothes for a specific amount of time.
4) Air: use to blow air throughout the dryer, allowing dry clothes to "freshen" in it.
Air means just that, it's only blowing air with no heat. You wouldn't want to use that to dry things because it would take forever. I use air to fluff clothes that I've hung to dry. Knit/Delicate should be your lowest heat setting. Perm press/cotton should be high heat and timed is probably high heat.
Depending on the clothing you are about to dry, you choose the setting:
1. Air is just to air out something, not really heating it up.
2. Knit is for delicate items
3. Permanent press is for shirts and cotton items
4. Timed drying is for sheets, towels, heavy stuff...
And... your'e not dumb because at least you are asking and admitting you don't know something... Not having the knowledge does not equal being dumb...
Being dumb would be doing something you know you have no knowledge about and not asking beforehand.
