I glued together a plastic plate. Can I use it for cooking in the microwave oven?
Question:
Answers:
NO! It's plastic and it's glued together. Definitely NOT microwave safe.
yeah i dont see why not... as long as it doesnt have metal on it you can microwave it.
No the glue will melt and contaminate what your cooking.
No, the microwave will release toxins from the glue which can contaminate your food.
throw it away!! You never know what chemicals can be relaesed by the microwave from the glue you used. If it has meaning I wouldn't be using it but my god a plastic plate you can get a t the dollar store 4 for 1$
why would you want to do? puzzled.
The glue will melt.
no, the glue would burn and the microwave will explode.
actually, i dont know. i wouldnt try it though!!
no, because the glue could start melting due to the heat realeased from microwaving/cooking something. and unless u want some nasty glue or bad fumes on/in ur food, go buy a new one, if u want to keep ur health
I would not use it in the microwave to heat food. Glues contain all sorts of solvents, oils and petroleum by-products, that may contaminate your food, even if you cannot taste it.
I have also been told that you should never use plastic in the microwave anyway - since it may contain hormones that can contaminate your food and cause health problems.
Try using those fire king type tough glass lidded containers for the microwave - they are great and you can also see what's going on.
I would think the heat would heat up the glue and unstick it ...u could try it with nothing in it and see what happens...u can always glue it back together if it comes apart.
i would be concerned with resins emmitted from the glue. I think you should be asking: Would you eat glue straight from the tube? The glue may appear hard on the plate, but after being in the microwave, it is surely to give off some sort of toxin.
I would NOT eat off of this plate.
besides, you may have heard plenty of stories not to heat certain plastics in the microwave?
ie/ plastic wrap
If it's one of those melamine plates, it shouldn't be a problem. I glued one together years ago and never had any issues with it and still use it today. Good luck.
I wouldn't use it at all. Germs grow in cracks. Doesn't matter what it's made of.
are you nuts? use a pot you crackpot
no. You don't know how the contents in the glue would react to the heat. Plus it's really not that great to microwave plastic, no matter what the manufacturers tell you.
I don't think you can use glue in the microwave. I think it will just melt.
Why would you want to? Don't you have any other plates?
noooooo never do that just use another plate
