Will bleach work on white rubber shoes? if not, what will?
Question:On the side of white sneakers on the rubber part I got some stuff on while I was at a farm and I washed the mud off and now there are 2 yellowish colored stains, I've tried scrubbing with soap for 10 minutes but those stains won't come out of the rubber. Will bleach make them white again?
Answers:
bleaching it might make it kind of yellow. Use Mr. Clean magic eraser. Or the off-brand.
bleach should make them look a lot better, believe it or not Windex works really good at getting white shoes clean... good luck!
I would´t suggest you use bleach, Bleach only burns through materials, turn´s them gray & yellow. With mud stain´s always better to allow the mud to dry before washing, once the mud is dry brush off with a soft brush, then with a little washiing up liquid, rub into stain, leave a few min´s then rinse, do this with cold water. Also try leaving the shoes in the sun , most times the sun will bleach stains out , the natural way
try ajax or comet with a bleach in it and scrub it with a hard bristled brush.
Good luck!
I've washed white sneakers in the washing machine and used bleach with no bad effects, and yes they did come clean. One other great product for all-around cleaning is "Greased Lightening", which is available at Home Depot, Lowes, etc. I use this product for just about everything (works great in the Bathroom).
I also agree with the Magic Eraser. Those things are a god send. My brother used them on his white shoes and they looked brand new again.
Use dishwashing detergent it is concentrated and has bleach.
