Best solution to remove urine pet stains?
Question:I am going to steam clean my carpet and know that sometimes the store bought solutions aren't always the best. Anyone have any suggestions? The biggest issue is the smell, I have scrubbed the stain away.
Answers:
You can use baking soda over the area, let it sit for an hour and vacuum up. there are also specific powders for this.
If you can get the liquid product Gonzo pet and stain remover and get it on the stains that show, or after they happen, you will be very pleased with the results. Here is an example that is selling on ebay right now.
get rid of the dog
I can suggest a small amount of ammonia & freshh lemon juice
i used to clean carpets and what we did was use a needle and srynge to inject a deoderizer into the pad at the stained areas before steaming.
the best bet for pet stains though is to catch them early on and use water to dilute the urine. then cover area with very absorbent towell and soak it all out. once a pet stain is set, it is a problem. but you can remove the odor with technique mentioned earlier. we used a commercial deoderizer, however, and im not certain what it was or if its available. you may try a small amount of a product like lysol, (if you can get a big ol' needle and srynge that is). gl with it.
I use febreze on my carpets and furniture. It works well. I spray the carpets about once or twice a week. We have a 60 pound dog, 2 cats and a bird, so I can relate to your problem...the febreze works wonderfully.
Nature's Miracle works wonders.
