What is the difference between a tumble dryer and a condenser dryer?

A normal tumble dryer uses raw heat from an element to dry the washing and have been known to be efficient for many years.Reverve action are the best as they dry quicker and tend to stop the washing from tangeling with this action.Yes most do need a vent hose but you can buy a condenser bucket that the hose sits in so you dont have to hang it out of a window, the bucket then collects the fluff that is expelled via the hose.
They also make a very handy heater in the winter month's.
A condensair or condenser dryer takes the excess water from the washing and via an element re-heats it to boiling point converting it into steam and drying the washing using the steam to dry.
This method is known to take longer to dry than normal drying,on average 20 to 30 minutes per load longer. You have to empty the water tray on a regular basis,so you cant load it and go out because when the water trays full they cut out heating.
And they are known to have a reputation for packing up more often.
Stick with a normal t/dryer there more reliable and more efficient..
tumble dryer needs to be vented (have a white hose in it) a condenser dryer doesnt. Means you could put a condenser one in a small cupboard or something similar.
TUMBLE DRYER USES HOSE TO EXPELL STEAM / CONDENSER HAS DRAWER WHICH GATHERS STEAM INTO WATER WHICH YOU EMPTY
I think that a conventional tumble dryer needs a vent to let the warm moist air out of the unit as it dries the clothes. most have a long hose that you hang out of the window or permenantly fix through the wall.
a condensing dryer has a unit inside it so that it condenses the moist air and collects the water internally which can then be drained away so no need for the external vent.
I've just bought my first condenser dryer and I really wish I could take it back. A tumble dryer has a hose which vents the hot air outside. A condenser basically collects the water from the clothes into a tank which you have to empty all the time. Clothes dont dry as well and the damp heat is hard to disperse in the utility room. Dont buy a condenser!
vented tumble driers remove water as steam which is pumped out via a vent, condenser tumble driers keep the steam within the machine where it cools and reverts to water which you empty out of the machine.
a condenser dyrer has a compatment which collects water which you have to empty whereas a tumble dryer has a hose whivch is vented to the outside of the house which enables the steam to escape
Condenser dryer has a box in it that catches the water , which you have to empty ,tumble dryer needs a hose to go out window or wall,
A tumble dryer has to be situated near a wall that you can drill a big hole for the pipe to go out of or even open a window and sling the pipe out of that. If for some reason that you cant put a dryer near a wall that you cant drill a big hole into then you will need to get a condenser dryer, it is best in the long run to buy one of these as if you move you will never have to worry about if you have space for one or not as it will never be an issue.
Well, they both are essentially a tumble dryer. The difference is that the condenser dryer does not have to be connected with a pipe to outside for the hot moist air to escape. Instead, the condenser dryer has a drawer which catches the water vapour coming from the washing as it tumbles to dry. This vapour then condenses and lands up in the drawer as water. The water collected in this drawer has to be emptied regularly. In a tumble dryer with a connecting hose to outside (call it an exhaust pipe, if you like) uses less electricity than the condenser type. The advantage of the condenser type, is that the dryer can be placed in any room of the house, and one does not have to have a pipe going through the wall, or through the open window to remove the moisture coming from the tumbling-drying washing.
a condenser drier which i have doesn't require a hose to outlet hot air
they take longer to dry and the water tank always needs emptying
a tumble drier needs a hose outlet 2 dangle out of the window or back door or an external vent
i recommend a tumble with reverse action their quicker and also come A rated
a tumble drier is vented and has a hose, a condenser drier turns the steam to water, which is collected in a drawer, then emptied out, no hose!
about 300.00 to 350.00 dollars .
I have had both types of dryer thy both expel heat ,i found the condenser dryer better cause it can be placed anywhere in the house or like mine in the garage,no diff in trying time and very easy to empty i have a Hotpoint
A tumble dryer is known as a vented dryer that requires a vent hose to release the steam but a condenser dryer turns the steam into water which collects in a drawer in the machine which you empty at regular intervals hence the name condenser:
Because it condenses the steam into water.
