I got some greasy spots on a knit sweater - any hints on how to get it out?

Question:Is a bright pink color - don't want to use bleach -- have already doused it with Coca-Cola in an effort to release the grease, but didn't work

put Dawn dishwashing liquid on it and let it set for 5 minutes before washing. Don't use much or your laundry will be extremely soapy!

I usually have good luck with liquid dish soap. Pour liquid dish soap on the stain, then wash it or run under water. I tried it by accident one time since that was the closest thing to my reach when my son dripped mustard on a new white t-shirt and it worked great. no stain. Then my mom said, by the way I was talking to Aunt Shirley and she said the best thing for stains is liquid dish soap. Wow what a coincidence. But I am not sure about grease. It might work since it removes grease from our dishes.
