Quitting and trying to get rid of smoke smell, but I can't smell it?

Question:Before you tell me to quit smoking, well I am. However, I just stopped smoking about a week ago. I only smoked in my bedroom, and usually a good cleaning got rid of the smell for me. The problem is that probably due to my smoking, I can't really tell if it stinks or not. I know non-smokers can telll as soon as they walk in but I have no one to ask at the moment and I want to make sure it doesn't smell before my parents come to visit this weekend. I have 3 electrical air freshners that have been on for 2 days, cleaned and vaccumed with at least 3 different products but I think I might smell it because I'm on the patch and I feel sick after being in my room for too long. How to tell?

Make sure you wash all your bedding plus pillows. Also wash your curtains and you may have to wash down your walls and bedroom furniture and tv and nearly everything in your bedroom. Sorry but that`s what I had to do + the carpeting shampooed. Its a job but if you want to delete the cig smell this is what you have to do. Don`t kid yourself its traveled through your other part of the house too including your closet. I quit nearly 1 year ago and really had a cleaning job on my hands. Good Luck to you and congrats! on quitting...Keep your windows open and if you have a room purifier run that too it helps and febreeze is good!!

Open windows, let a breeze through. Burn incense to mask it. On the other hand, your parents knowing that you smoke will probably accelerate your quitting process.
All drapes, clothing will have to be washed!! Probably the walls and ceiling will have to be re-painted..welcome to the non-smoking club!!
I have to agree with Gary B. Everything should be washed and if painting is not an option at this time, you should wash your walls with Bleach or Pine-sol. I have just quit about a month ago and I still run across things that smell like smoke. Don't forget your purse, either change it or wash it. Mine was disgusting!! Good Luck!
Sweet pea-- your folks will be so glad you quit-- they'll forgive the smell-- and Mom can probably help you with all you'll need to do.
You'll get a burst of energy to keep from smoking-- so use it.
congrats!! watch out for the psychological effects!
good luck
