How can I get mud stains out of my daughter's white cotton shorts?

Question:They have already been washed 2 times, I treated the spots both times, I can still see them. I don't want to bleach them even though they're white, it has colored print on one side that I dont want to bleach out. They're like a knit fabric, like jogging pants.

Answers:
you need not to worry about the color on the other side. you can use a bleach pen and only get the stains. or you can buy a great soap ERA and brush it in and let sit. either way it will come out good luck

Shame you washed them , never mind. Normally you leave the mud stain to dry well, then scrape with a blunt knife. So now add a little of your own washing up liquid, rub in with your fingers, leave like this for a few minutes. Now pop them into the machine on a 40Âșc wash & the stain should come out. hang them outside in the sun, if any remaining stains , the sun will bleach them out
If you have put them in the dryer I believe you are out of luck in getting out the stain. Pretreating and presoaking are the best methods and use bluing in the wash cycle for whites. Follow the directions on the bottle.
