Can anyone recomend a good hard floor cleaner?

Question:I think I really would like to get one but I don't know whether to get the bissel flip it, the hoover floor mate or the dirt devil floor keeper. Consumer reports hasn't done a study yet. Please either point me in the direction or a review of them or if you have one: let me know what you think of it, what you like/dis like, how long you have had it, ease of use, if it is durable and has lasted, etc. THANKS!!

Answers:
No matter what else I have tried, the only way to get a hard floor truly clean is to get down there w/ a sponge and a bucket of soapy water. No mops, no gadgets, no trickery. Sorry, I know you wanted an easier answer.

Murphy's Oil Soap.
my sister is a good hard cleaner . I think she my have to much working
I just purchased a Bissel Flip It, and returned it after using it once. The hard floor cleaning part of it seemed to work pretty well, but the vacuum cleaner part of it was almost useless. It couldn't seem to generate enough suction to pick up even light weight stuff, like cat litter. It would have been nice to not have to use our old, and larger vacuum cleaner before using the Flip It. If all you are concerned about is hard floor cleaning, and don't mind using a seperate tool to vacuum your floor before using the hard floor cleaner, then the Flip It might work fine.

For me, I'm going to evaluate other brands. I've heard good things about the Hoover Floor Mate, but need to do some more looking around.
I'm a stay at home mom and while my husband was over in Iraq I bought myslef a present. The Dirt Devil broom Vac is so wonderful! I can't stand to walk on the kitchen floor when it has loose dirt on it. With the Dirt Devile broom Vac I can sweep the kitchen floor and pick up the dirt with out having to bend over. It saves time and I don't have to mess with a dust pan. I use it on my hardwood floors and the linolium floors. I also use it every time I have to mop the floors because it doesn't leave dirt like a mop and dust pan do.
hoover floormate hands down.A+A+A+ best invention since the dishwasher. I owne one and you can check out the reveiws on amazon and purchase if you like I promise you will be amazed and will LOVE IT.
murphy's oil soap
I researched it alot online & everyone said to get a canister vac for area rugs & hardwoods. All I can say is do not get a Shark Roadster- they not worth it at all. Especially if you have pets. It is bagless & I do good to get through one room without loosing suction & needing to empty the dirt holder & clean the filter so it will continue with the rest of the house. I vacum several times a week too.
I have owned several dirt devil products & they usually burn up-they over heat & stop working before they are even 1 yr old. Hoover (with the bags)makes a good product but they only last a few yrs.
Myself personally am thinking of investing in a Dyson? Not sure of the name but they are new and sound good.
I am a Building Service Contractor specializing in hard floor care... for the home nothing beats getting down on your hands and knees. Machines do not get in the corners or under furniture. When you say hard floor are you talking about stone, wood, VCT, etc...
