Help... My washer smells like mildew?
Question:Recently, my washer has been smelling of mildew... even though it is used rather frequently. It didn't smell until I accidently left a wet blanket in there for 2 days. I rewashed it, & it seemed fine. Well, now it is starting to make my clothes smell... I didn't realize until I put a shirt on this morning & it smells like mildew. I live in an apartment who owns the washer, so I just can't go buy a new one or I would. Should I call maintenance, or is there something I can do to get rid of the smell? Any suggestions? Thanks!

I would run a load of hot water and two cups of bleach. After that, get some hot water and bleach in a bucket and wipe down the whole inside of the washing machine. This should take care of the smell.
Add some white vinegar to your laundry when you wash it! This should help with the mildew smell.
Set the machine on hot cycle, put some vinegar in, and let it run through the cycle. Trust me it helps.
wash it down in alchol after you run the bleach water
put your cloths on hight heat for about 60 mins because i had a similar problem i had wet cloths for about 2months but i ran it throught the dryer and they were fine also try using fabric softner
Add a capful of pine cleaner - like Pine Sol - to a washer load of clothes. My mom let me in on this secret about 20 years ago and I have used it since. My laundry has been great since - no soured smells!
You might want to re-wash the blanket in the pine oil as well -
you may need to clean out the trap and let bleach set in it for a while and dont close the lid till it dryes out after you use it
Run a full cycle with a cup of bleach.Do this once a week and no more smell!!
run a load of hot water with a cup of bleach, that should get rid of the musty smell...run your clothes and/or blanket that smell bad with a bit of pine cleaner...
