New bed linens- different colors, light and dark can I wash together?
Question:I like to mix and match things, and we recently bought new bed linens. The sheets and pillow cases are light blue and green and the duvet cover is a dark brown (I bought awseome throw pillows that bring all the colors together and it goes great with our room, like I said I love to mix and match) Well it's time that they get washed for the first time. Do you think it's okay if I throw them all in the wash at the same time? Will the dark color of the duvet cover bleed into the light sheets? Will I have to wash them seperatly the first time or always or even at all? I use tide and no fabric softeners or anything else. Just wondering. Thanks for you input and help!

If you want to keep your colors "true" then wash them separetely. Just save yourself the grief of an "oh no!" and take your precautions. You seem to like the colors the way they so don't mess with it.

I wouldnt wash them together at least the first few times. I've had some bad experiences with that and I now learned my lesson. Wash darks and lights separately the first couple of times. After that, I think it's ok to do them together. Good luck!
No, I wouldn't wash them together. Because they are new the colors could possibly bleed. I think your pillow cases and sheets would be OK. But wash the duvet separately especially if it is bigger, so it has room in the washing machine. If its too crowded they will not be as clean. And by the way look at the washing recommendations on the linen.. Hope this helps
the first couple times you wash them wash with like colors but after awhile as long as you wash them on cold you will be fine. bold colors like red will bleed also cheer has color catching sheets that work well but again thats after the first few washes and you can test it by putting in a sink or tub of water and watch for the bleeding.
Yes just do it in cold water and you should be good. 30 degrees or less would be the best.
