How can I get rid of sweat odor on my iPod strap?

Question:I use an iPod arm strap when I work out. After some time it has started to smell like a locker-room. I have washed it and sprayed disinfectant on it and even body spray, but the smell won't go away. What can I do to get rid of the pungent odor of many workouts on the strap?

I think the problem with the ipod strap is that you may have sweet/skin cell material INSIDE the fabric's fiber.

If so, doing a quick clean would only take care of the outside organic matter,

What you need is a deeper clean, try SOAKING the strap overnight in a bowl with a small amount of water and a small amount of laundry detergent.

It takes time for the detergent to penetrate the fabric, but this is likely the only way to deal with the rotting organic matter & sweet inside the fabric.

Also, start the process with warm water.
