I accidentally washed my white bikini w/ other whites and it turned yellow!!?
Question:Can I get it back to white? It also has colored embroidered flowers on it so I am afraid to bleach it.
Answers:
Try color safe bleach like Clorox 2
Switch to paint-on bikinis. Then it's always the color you want.
its definatly ruined
There is something in the laundry department called bluing. You can very carefully try that.Use very little.
buy a new pair.
go to a grocery store and buy some color-safe bleech. or try soaking it alone in a large pot with warm water and some detergent, stirring gently. then rinse it.
you've got a few things you can do. don't sweat it!
or you could always buy another one? =\
put some polka dots on it and hum "yellow polka dot bikini ...
I'd bleach it. Make sure everything is white. And when its cleaned, take some pictures of yourself so that we can all check out your nice body.
oops!
try vanish or another stain remover
if that fails bleach it or get another one
Yeah, but if you don't bleach it, it's ruined anyway, right? I don't think the embroidered flowers will be faded any more than they would after being exposed to the chlorine in a swimming pool.
Get out the bleach, hon.
use bleach for colors or wash it with oxyclean
Well, u can say you peed on it...its ok Sh*t happens...
Some materials react badly to bleach. Try a little bluing.
OXY CLEAN AS SEEN ON TV
wear it as is and if anyone notices u just mention its a new model style or trend ,.it must look funky now and unique
bluing might help. But it may be a gonner
Bleach it
you can try a bleach pen
Usually, it's bleach that will turn a white into a yellow. Unless you've already bleached it...I don't know why it would do that.
sweet!
Now you have a sexy ''Yellow'' bikini!
:(
Try a white vinegar rinse after rinsing it out. Several tries might do the trick
Maybe its old and you washed it too much. I would suggest just getting another one and not having to go through all this.
The other stuff may be risky.
If it is made of polyester , bleach will yellow it. Sorry
If you put the suit in the dryer there is nothing you can do now. If you did not dry it, you can try some color safe bleach made for delicates, or some oxiclean. Chances are that it is ruined.
you can spot clean it with bleach avoiding the embroidered flowers. or if you didn't put it in the dryer you can use Spray n' Wash or something like that.
It's not an itsy-bitsy, teeny-weenie, yellow polka-dotted pair is it...?
That's kinda funny. Not for you though, because now other people might think you soiled it.
Anyway, you can bleach it without affecting the flowers if the embroidered material is synthetic. If it's cotton or something, which it most likely is not, since it's a swimsuit and needs to hold up to chlorine, then the bleach will affect them. But more than likely, you'll be ok bleaching it.
Think of it this way: if you feel it's already ruined, then there's no loss if you bleach it and something goes wrong.
Good luck anyway.
put it in a pot with warm water, and a little detergent, stir alittle.
oxy clean.
it works.
happened to me too!
Soak it overnight in a mixture of warm water and Oxyclean. Run the water hot and add the Oxyclean, stirring it. When the Oxyclean is all dissolved immerse your swimsuit. Every couple of hours kinda stir it around. I got 10 year old formula stains out of a baby outfit doing this...although it took soaking it for about 4-5 days, it all came out. Good luck!
