SoftSoap works wonders on all stains. I learned it from my moms cleaning lady. We once got black ink on an old rocking chair seat and it sat there for months. She put some softsoap with a little water, let it sit a few minutes and it came right off. Just be sure to not let it sit too long, it can cause the color in the carpet to become irregular. What color is the makeup...I am a male and do not know what MAC is. If it is base or coverup, it can easily be removed. Just use oxyclean scrub and extract it. If it is a red like blush or rouge, then you may not get it out. Try a dry solvent...sparingly (it will disolve the carpet glue if you dump it on) and see if the stain moves. Most of all don't rub it around and cause it to spread.
