I have this same problem with my khaki pants and my work shirts. I wash my clothes on cold water and then I put them in the dryer on the lowest setting. It is the heat in your dryer that makes them shrink. I hate to hang dry them because then they are all stiff and wrinkly and everything. I hope this helps because I know exactly how you feel about not wanting to let them hang dry. I just don't have time either.
Handwash it and hang it. I do that to my fav. outfits.
Wash in cold, and air dry jeans or shirts that tend to shrink.
Always wash in cold water. Dry on medium.
washing them with warm water and drying them on the highest setting causes cotton and denim to shrink. to prevent shrinking, it would be best to wash things with cold water and let them air dry. you still might get a tiny bit of shrinking but it will be much less than what's happening to you now.
Stop washing and drying so warm. Wash in cold and hang dry.
Water temperature really isn't going to be high enough to cause problems, the best best reason to use warm or cool water is to save energy.
You need to use the LOW setting on the dryer or line dry. Clothes usually shrink shorter in length, but not thinner.
Well Sparkly, you are going to have to wash in cold and then hang them to dry if you don't want them to shrink. It's the only way. Just make sure you wash them the day before you are going to wear them so they will be ready when you want to wear them. Or pick one day and do all your shrinkables and/or delicates at once as long as the colors won't bleed onto the other fabrics. good luck
Well, if you don't want to handwash, dry on low setting or hang to dry, your only other alternative is to pay out the **** to have all your stuff drycleaned.
Never wash in warm or hot...always cold.
