I spilt a small dab of Superglue on my friend's D&G sunglasses and can't get the blotch off! How can I remove?
Question:They are a dark lense colour but can't remove the bad (scraping would be a bad idea as it could ruin the lense even more) stain in the middle.
She's terribly annoyed at me - how can I remove it effectively without ruining the lense?
Acetone will apparently work but would that ruin the lense maybe?

Methylated spirits, or paint thinner. Use a cuetip and slowly, slowly and carefully rub the cue-tip soaked in the spirit over the blob of glue. As they are good quality glasses, the tinting should be within the glass and not a film on the outside. I have Christian Dior sunnies and I'm pretty sure that spirits wouldnt affect it. You could call up the manufacturer or a brand sunnies store or the DG website to ask for advice. But I dont think you have any other choice here.

Acetone will discolor the lenses so that is out of the question...try goo gone. Can't guarantee it'll work though but worth a shot. If not start saving money for a new pair...but not until you are sure that they are real D&G...you can get a knockoff for 10.00!
Go buy her new glasses - you won't get the glue off without ruining the pair. You could try taking them to a professional..
i have found that the best thing to remove superglue is... SUPERGLUE! just put some on the dry blob and scrape it off before it dries
Oh just use rubbing alcohol. it won't ruin the lenses and it'll take of the glue completely!
If they cost mega bucks tell your friend to claim off of either hers or her parents household insurance.
They probably cost about £300 even with the access it would be worth claiming for them.
What were you doing with superglue near her glasses anyhow? Had one of the lenses come out and you were trying to fix them for her if so they are not the genuine article but a copy... and shes stringing you along.

Most Superglues are water soluble. Just run it under warm water until it dissolves. May take a while.
If you stick your eyes as children often do this is the hospital treatment.
have you tried lighter fuel the petrol kind not the gassy stuff?

Soak in warm water, superglue is the worst glue in the world under wet conditions. May take some time.then, with the amount of rain we are getting...she wont need them for a while!!
take them to a opticians, they'll know what to do. if you live in London try Paine and:Hunter in Dulwich, when i chipped my Gucci glasses they were able to get them repaired for very little money. Don't try to remove the glue yourself you may make matters worse honey.
