Question:I just want the towels and Jeans not to be so CRISP when I line dry. I CANNOT use fabric softener because my son is extremly allegic. Please help!!
Answers:
I do the same only backwards--line dry until they're just a little damp then throw in the dryer. Also, I have used the dryer balls, but I'm not sure if they would work on line drying. You can find them at Target or at the link below.
Put your towels in the dryer for a few minutes and then move to the outside line. It's the only thing I've tried that works for me. Actually I sometimes like those "crisp" towels for rubbing my back..but you are right about the jean, wrinkled and ..crisp (good term.)
a 1/2 cup of vinegar in the rinse is good for that...if at all possible, dry on a windy, cooler day...the hot, dry air is what makes them crunchy...
have you tried the perfume and dye free type of Fabric Softener? Our family has extreme issues with eczema and we can use this without issue...we also use Sunlight for sensitive skin...you may have already tried this and I don't know the level of allergy your child has...Good Luck!
ALL Free and Clear is a really good detergent for sensitive skin. They also make a fabric softener. Also adding a 1/2 cup of white vinegar to the rinse cycle helps soften your clothes before drying them.
use baby detergent such as dreft or all baby. it has softening agents already in it, so no fabric softener is needed.
Liquid detergent.
Dryer Balls.
