Were we separated at birth? lol.. I also have 2 boys and a husband that will not help (not that his help is any good lol)and I am obsessed with cleanliness. I am a stay at home mom, so I have more time than you do, but I l seriously clean all day long most of the time. I dont really have an answer for you except to say that you should get organized. I have baskets in every room for laundry, trash and toys. I collect things in the baskets and that really helps keep the floor clean. I wipe down my kitchen completely after each meal and the bathroom sink and toilet daily. It is a struggle, and my house still doesnt seem as lean as it could, but I have 2 little guys and one big guy undoing all my work all the time.. Good luck, and know that you are not alone, lots of us are in the same battle!

My husband of 27yrs is a slob. My 23yr old son is very tidy, and he can cook! 25yr old son is very untidy, but now lives with his girlfriend, so I have a bit less untidiness here now
One trick I use is to use the extension on the hoover to dust, it's over in minutes instead of running around with a cloth. Plus the dust doesn't get spread around everywhere!
Yes boys and men are messy! I have a hubby, 19yr old son, 11 month old male dog and a male Parrot, they're all messy!! lol
If you've got 2 boys and they're old enough, get them to help you - as soon as I was old enough, I pitched in with the housework...
Do what Quentin Crisp always used to say - if you leave the cleaning for two years it never gets any worse ! ! !
I see the boyfriend is giving you advice, but when he is doing so get him to help with the bloody housework lazy git!

I have a daughter & a son. My son is almost 8 & a bit untidy. I secretly call him "Pigpen."
Know how you feel, I had four kids and it was never ending, am I'm not the sort of person that can just live in a mess. Now I've only one teenager left at home and it seems just as bad, or perhaps I've got more fussy maybe. I always clean as I go I suppose, if you keep the mess down, it's a much easier job. You don't have to clear lots of clutter before you begin the actual cleaning. I have to vacuum daily because of the dog, but I've learned not to do things unless they need doing. Sometimes you clean and it doesn't look any different than before. I'm not fanatical about it, just as long as it's looking ok, and the kitchen, loo etc are clean, everything else hasn't got to be immaculate. After all there's always something better to do, especially if you have kids. My pal has a really laid back approach she says if people don't like the mess then they haven't got to go there, after all no-one will offer to do it for you will they! Put up you feet and have a coffee!
Yes you are right , you will make yourself ill if you carry on cleaning. I like my house clean too, but when you have children it´s not that easy . Try doing 15 min´s in 1 room at a time. I do most of my cleaning like this , I set my alarm clock to go off in 15 min´s time, never take anything back to it´s rightful place until I have finished what I´m doing. Some times we waste a lot of time taking thing´s back. Once the clock alarm goes off I stop and have a rest, the more you try and do when your tiered the harder it is to get things done. Also putting your washing machine on at night help´s , all ready to hang out first thing in the morning. As for dusting, I use Spontex duster´s, you dust 1 day & no need to dust for the next 2 -3 days. Something inside these duster stop´s the dust from settling back so quick. So this will cut your cleaning time by half.
