Making Brass Handles Shiny
Remove your brass handles from your kitchen cabinets and put them in a small saucepan of ketchup- just enough to cover the handles will do. Bring the temperature to a boil and immediately turn down the heat. When the handles are nice and shiny, take them out and give them a gool polishing!
The acids in ketchup work wonders when it comest to removing tarnish and buildup from metals such as brass and copper

I have these beautiful brass duck bookends and they tarnish so easy. I used "Brasso" and it works it just takes so much effort to get them clean so I experimented with other techniques. I found fine grit sand paper works well. And then going over it with brasso makes it so shiny. Hope this helps..
Apart from Brasso i was told old foundation i tried it and it really worked in the same way as Brasso
Lemon juice is as good as Brasso and is environmentally friendly.
