My son has this tiger he loves - named "Thor" He has had it since he was a baby and every now and then it needs a wash. (i have washed heaps of other "buddies" this way too). I get an old toothbrush (or use your fingernail if you don't have an old toothbrush). Fill your bathroom basin with warm water and a little shampoo. Using the toothbrush, scrub teddy with the shampoo water. You will be amazed how clean he will come up. Don't be scared to get him a bit wet. When he looks ok, squeeze him dry really hard in a soft towel. We hang Thor up by his tail on the clothes line (we were too scared to put him in the dryer in case his nose or eyes melted or he shrunk). He takes about 1 day to dry in the sun - ready for bed that night - he then smells so sweet and is his bright happy little self again. I did dry him with the hairdryer one time to hurry things along before bed-time. Oh, and after drying - I always give him a little brush to fluff up his fur again.

Totally works! Enjoy Teddies bath day!

I would wash inside a knotted pillowcase. GL
I have always laundered my stuffed animals in a pillow case tied closed with a knot. I tumbled them dry in the pillow case, too. I liked to toss in a fabric softener sheet too as they smelled so nice and were extra plush afterwards! Your special bear will be just fine!
Find some type of a mesh fabric or bag to place the stuffed aninals inside. Stick down inside of the washer and proceed to start the wash cycle on gentle wash. Add some favorite detergent and wash.

Keep inside of the mesh bag to dry. The bag acts like a barrier to keep it from getting caught or tangled up with anything else.
The dryer helps to tumble the stuff and make them fluffy + dry all at the same time.
Take out after dry and love em up again!
You can wash stuffed animals. You may want to make sure that the bear is synthetic on the out side. If it is a steiff bear...button in the ear, then don't wash it, go to their web site. If is is synthitic and no rips in the fabric then put it into a pillow case and wash the bear on a gentle cycle. I wouldn't put it into the dryer until it has air dried. Use the air only setting to 'fluff it up' and if the hair on the bear is messy, use a hair brush to style it.
You maybe able to find out more by going to a web-site for stuffed animals such as matel or call a good toy store (Brown Bear Factory) (I think this is the name, where you stuff your own bear etc) find out who manufactures their stuffed animals. Also if your teddy is in need of stitches I know that there are doll hospitals out there they may have some advice for you as well.
Can you tell I worked in a toy shop for years. Good luck with your bear. We all need someone to love!
I've used the pillowcase tied up and it works well. I usually run it on a gentle cycle, and add some towels or other clothes to the load. The same load can go in the dryer on a heated cycle. Good luck!
