Laundry question?

Question:I forgot my towels in the washer for a few days and they soured. I have washed them several times since then and I can still smell the sour smell. How do I get rid of the sour smell? I know I can't be the only one that has done this. Help!

Answers:
I've added a little bit of Pine Sol, white vinegar or baking soda, all seem to work wonderfully.

Whatever you do, don't use baking soda AND vinegar! You'll have a big, frothy mess on your hands. ;-)

I do this all the time. I'm so addled that I always seem to forget my laundry!

What I recommend is this:

As the water begins to fill in your washer, add a cup of baking soda. Then, add your detergent and fabric softener, as you would normally do.

I add 1/2 cup of baking soda to ever load of laundry, and my laundry is always fresh! I love it!

I learned to do this from the Queen of Clean! I love her!!

Good luck!!
Try washing them with a cup of vinegar, then airdry them in the SUN. The sun is great at de-odorizing stuff. It's possible to dry them on the lawn or on bushes, if you don't have a clothesline. Just be sure to clip them on, or weight them down with a rock.

If the vinegar doesn't work, try baking soda.

Hope that works!
after you wash them hang them outside in the sun shine it will get rid of the odor might be stiff but it will
In the summer, when clothes in the washer can smell sour in just a few hours, I nearly always add just an ounce or two of bleach to every load - even dark/bright colors. It doesn't seem to be enough to fade the colors at all (even through the course of the entire summer), and forgotten laundry stays fresh in the washer for up to two full days!
Done it plenty, I use vinegar, about 1 cup should do it, gets rid of the smell and your clothes come out fresh (no vinegar smell at all) if you can hang them out to dry, they will even smell better.

Vinegar is also great for getting pet odors out of fabric
Wash them over again in Hammers Baking Soda.
You might try adding about 2 cups of white vinegar to the wash cycle, or try the new Febreze odor eliminator for laundry. The vinegar is much cheaper than the Febreze product, so I would try that first.
