If I bought a new washing machine and brought it home (lying on the back of the box) should the box be wet?

Question:

Answers:
its under warranty
just hook it up and use it

if it doesn't work then call for service or replacement

it could be water that was in it from testing

no big issue

I don't think so! You should call the store that you bought it from right away and determine whether they can offer you a replacement!
Did it rain? I can't imagine any reason a new washing machine would ever have had water in it.
It's fine...they test the machines before shipping to retailers. It's probably just water left in the drain hose that ran out when you set it on it's back.
Check the "wet spot" on the box to see if it is water or oil. It is probably water from testing but you need to be sure. Not sure if warranty would apply if they find that it was carried this way. Most appliance boxes have arrows denoting the direction of "upright".
It's fine just hook it up. They always test the machines before they hook them up and I know this because my hubby works at sears.
