Can a pattern dress be dyed another solid color?

Question:I have a dress that I love the fit and style of, but it has this pattern on it I'm getting really tired of looking at. Its got green and black checks, plus some lighter colors outlining the checks. I would really like to dye it bright red. Is it possible to sucessfully dye something like that?? Its made of 95% polyester.

Please help!!

Answers:
No, the pattern still comes through, and depending on what type of thread is sewn in the fabric...the dyes can make them a real off color...I would not do it.

You can try. Polyester doesn't dye as well as other fabrics and the colors will all change if the dye works.
Usually no, the pattern willl still show up.
