I have just purchased a new bag but it smells all plastic. Any idea how to get rid of the smell?

Febreeze or dryer sheets .works wonders.good luck
Get some fabric sheets and leave them in there.
Febreez and you can also put a perfume on a cloth and rub the inside a bit the leave the cloth in there and leave it for a while.
Fabric sheets help get rid of he smell, especially Bounce.
Whenever I have to get an odour out of a container (box, bag, what-have-you), I sprinkle a good amount of baking soda in it and let it sit there for a few days to let the soda absorb the odour, then shake it out. Usually works.

I found the perfect product that I've used for years and know dozens of other people that use it. It is a product called FRIDGE IT carbon odor absorbers. It is a little purple cube with an incredible activated carbon filter inside that is really, really, great. The carbon literally absorbs and eliminates the odors and works for a long time. It works so much better than all those sprays and fragrances that just cover up smells and doesn't get rid of them. Also, alot of sprays have warning statements about being eye irritant. and gels and oils that say keep away from fabric, etc. and just don't eliminate odors. Just put one in your bag for a few days. I use this product everywhere including car(smoke and pet smells), storage, closets, my fridge and also under sinks, near trash and have friends that use it on cat litter box and also diaper pails - it's that good. I really recommend it. You can buy it in kitchen gadget sections in stores like walmart and linens and things. I also think camping world sells it. Definitely worth trying
I would simply let it air out, preferably in the sun, or in the attic [if you have one]. You can speed up the process a little with a fan. It was probably recently made , thus the smell of the materials used to make it. Lots of airing out is the key. If it is made of a washable material you could use rubbing alcohol mixed with water. Just use a sponge or cloth with this and dry right away and put to air out a little.
