Will roomba fall down stairs if I don't use a virtual wall?

Question:I have a landing at the top of the stairs, and I'd like us to my roomba to clean it. Will roomba detect the drop-off and stay away, or should I use a virtual wall?

Answers:
Not at all :) The Roomba has a sensor that senses "cliffs". The virtual wall is only for you to curtail it from areas that are in the same level as the Roomba.

I have tried this several times myself in an attempt to tempt fate and have not had any luck with making it fall off the stairs :)

It's not supposed to, mine doesn't fall. But here's a suggestion.don't stand around and watch it if your the jumpy type because every time it lurches itself back, you will think it's going to fall this time!
