How do i get the smell of skunk out of my hair and body and out of my van?
Question:I ran over a skunk and it sprayed under my van. I need to know how to clean me and my van up. also i had a bridesmaid dress in the van to the wedding is in 4 days. any help would be great

First, get the dress out of the van and allow it to hang in fresh air after spraying it with Febreeze. If you can't hang it outside anywhere, at least spray it with Febreeze and then put a fan blowing on it.
Next, take your van to a manual car wash and wash the undercarriage with plenty of soap. This is not the time to scrimp on quarters!
Use the heavy duty Febreeze on the interior of your van, on the upholstery & carpet. Allow it to air out, and if possible, keep it out of direct sun for awhile.
As for your hair & body--you may not smell as bad as all that. I'm guessing the odor is in your nose and so you think you smell. But if you want to do a treatment, this is what we do on our dogs--wash in tomato juice. Something about the acid in the tomato cuts through the skunk aroma. Probably need about 3-4 of the largest, cheapest cans of it you can find. Kneeling in the tub or shower, pour it over your dry hair--(dry hair will soak up more tomato juice that wet hair), allowing the tomato juice to run down over your body. Then go ahead and "bathe" as best as you can in the tomato juice, your major parts, like arms, legs & trunk. Careful of the privates, you don't want to throw off the ph balance of the delicate areas.
Rinse off very well, then wash with your regular shampoo & soap.

Get a big can of 100% tomato juice and take a bath with it, I don't know about the dress but if it's white I think bleach would help and for your van spray some tomato juice and rinse with water.
the only thing i have ever heard of even coming close to working is "tomato juice"

Tomato Juice for sure. I don't really know about your dress and van though. I don't know if it would eliminate the smell or not, but maybe some Febreeze or something in your van. Sorry I'm not that much help.
Tomato juice does work but a combination of hydrogen peroxide, the over the counter 3% kind, and baking soda work better. The hydrogen peroxide oxegenates the skunk musk while the baking soda absorbs. As far as your clothes go Fabreeze works OK but if you go to a pet store and get the enzyme stuff used for animal "mistakes" that works great (usually called something like urine gone) . You just spray it on heavy and let it dry. Smell is gone.
