What home remedy shines your wedding ring?
Question:i've triewd a toothbrush and some paste. i also have a solution from the jewlery store-but it never gives teh same effect as when it is professionaly cleaned- what's a secret i can do at home?
Answers:
I keep a tiny jar (what pimento comes in) of ammonia under my sink. Drop in my ring, let it soak a few minutes while I do my hair or make-up. Fish it out with a soft toothbrush (kept exclusively for this purpose!), clean around the diamond & bands, rinse with clear water & dry with a clean soft towel.
Plenty of sparkle!
I get better results with this than with the "official" jewelry cleaner. Caution: do NOT use on pearls or opals or turquoise. Perfect for diamonds! : )
I don't have home remedy, I'll be anxious to read some. I also have the solution from jewelry store, and it helps, but like you said it's not the same as when it comes from jeweler. That's because they also use a buffing machine.
Lemon juice works awesomly. Or, soak it in vinegar, but I have never done this. The vinegar may ruin it, so I would go with lemon juice straight from the lemon.
I find keeping mine in a box keeps them shiny.
cigarette ashes put some on the ring them rub good then wash off with soap and water dry with a soft cloth ..this is what my brother told me it try ,it works for me.
I have tried the toothpaste and brush and it works good for me. Someone told me that Windex also cleans jewelry. I have seen them clean gold with it. Also, I think Walmart sells an electric jewelry cleaning machine. This might be just what you need. Good luck.
I have one of the sonic jewelry cleaners from walmart and it does a good job. when it's done I use a cloth just for silver jewelry- one side cleans the other polishes. When I'm done it looks gorgeous!
