Can you use detergent for the dishwasher for washing your cloths?

Question:if it was my last resort and have not money yet for laundry detergent, and yes I am broke right now

Answers:
No, it contains too much bleach. But it would be fine for whites, I guess...

ues, but it is much more concentrated than laundry soap so you will need lesss... by the way - you know you can detergent for like 2 bucks right?
Do what you have to do, but I would not use a hole lot of it...
It will probably ruin your clothes and make a ton of bubbles come out of the washer. Not a good idea. Go to a discount store like Save-A-Lot and buy the cheapest kind, normally around $2. Good luck!
Sure, just dilute it first. I even use baby shampoo in my liquid hand soap dispenser in the bathroom. And for clothes too. I use baby shampoo on my feet, makes them soft.
i'd say NO. you're not supposed to even use dishwasher detergent if you're washing dishes in the SINK! but maybe it's just the powder stuff and not the liquid or gel. anyway, i'd advise against it. dishwashers use extremely hot water to get all of the detergent off, and if you don't do the same in the washing machine it might react to your skin when you wear them.
No, it could make your clothes feel kinda gritty.Try baking soda...Its like 60 cents!! (the smallest boxes are) And NEVER try dish soap, it CAN cause spotting depending on which one you use..
Just use a little bit of shampoo. or borrow some laundry detergent from one of your neighbors
No. It will ruin your clothes.
Dishwasher detergent contains chlorine bleach and is really damaging to clothes. Sure, use if you are into holes!
Yes you can. I used Dawn dishwasher soap all the time when i'm out of laundry detergent, just use a little bit. I just usually give one squirt around the bottom of the washing machine then throw the cloths on top to prevent a lot of bubbles. We've all been there before. You can basically use any kind of soap for laundry just use less than you would of laundry detergent.
The dishwasher detergent could cause too many bubbles, and ruin your washing machine pump. Although a dishwasher does have a pump, so it may be formulated for not making as many bubbles as regular dish detergent used in the sink. It's probably too harsh for skin. I'd follow some of the suggestions of your other Answerers.
Yipes. Dishwash detergent is far harsher than laundry detergent. However..in this situation, make certain the dish stuff is completely dissolved in the water before adding your clothes or else you'll eat holes
It's hard on the clothes and might give you a chemical itch.
Got any shampoo? Might work better - laundry soap and shampoo are both designed to make suds.
Just don't ever put laundry detergent in the dishwasher - makes roomfuls of suds!
If you mean like Dawn ..it will bubble up a lot so don't use much.

If you mean like Cascade....be careful.it contains a bleach like substance in it.it is wonderful on whites though..it is my miracle whitener. But, just 2 tablespoons a load.
Be very very careful.many dishwasher detergents have bleach in them and your colors will be faded..Not a good idea.A really cheap laundry detergent would be a better option.
Peace.
Sure it is a soap, but it does contain bleach so don't use on colors and it is concentrated. This stuff is great for getting stains out of whites. If you have any other kind of soap around you might be able to use it for colors. Dish soap, shampoo.car wash soap etc.
