Is a bit of soapy water appearing during a washing machine final spin normal?

Question:I have a 2yr old Hotpoint WF860P washing machine (fortunately covered by insurance 'til 2010) and recently have been having problems with bits of powdery white residue left on the drum and clothes (I'm using the recommended amount of powder).
I've recently run it with a limescale/detergent remover and did empty max temp maintenance runs, but I'm still getting it. I also notice - perhaps it's normal - that on the final spin, some soapy water appears towards the door window, perhaps re-resting on the clothes. Could that be contributing to it, and if so what is that problem? A Hotpoint engineer said my machine passed all the main checks...It's driving me mad to see bits of powdery stuff.
I see bits of residue left on the drum. The water isn't loads that I see, but noticeable on the final spin enough.
It's definitely not tissue or lint! As I said it's been fine for a long time but I need to gain knowledge on this, it'll help if I need to contact Hotpoint again. Thanks for any help!

The problem is that the powder does not dissolve completely. Use a higher water temperature for wash and rinse. If you still have the residue, switch to a liquid laundry detergent for maximum dissolving.

yes
I've notified NASA...Suggest you look for a new planet.
It sound like you need to use less powder. Also if it is a budget powder you could have this problem. the other thing I would suggest is to use a liquid washing detergent.

The manufacturers of the powder want you to use as much as possible so you need to buy more so defiantly try less unless the stuff is very dirty experiment a bit and you will find you don't need as much as they tell you.
I find that I get a few suds on the final spin probably due to the fact that when you r machine is doing the final rinse and emptying there is still traces left on the top of the drum if you are still concerned and you are using the correct amount of powder then try a different brand or try tablets
hope this helps
Same was happening to me I switched to a liquid soap. If I see suds at the end of the wash I press for an extra rinse my machine is an Ariston
Switch to liquid detergent . The powder is not going into solution.

Check the temperature of the hot water inlet. If you have hard water and the temperature of the water is low, your machine will exhibit just what you described.

Good luck.
l get the bit of soapy water on the final spin too, l just ignore it.
Like most of the answers you might want to use liquid laundry detergent.
are u putting the washing powder in the right compartment? i have a bit of suds in the rinse but ive put that down to concentreted softener
USE ALITTLE LESS SOAP WHEN WASHING
you have to fill the washer half way with water then add the cloths and not to full with cloths when you are using powder detergent.
yes its fine my washing machine is over 5 yrs old and it does that on the final spin. its just makin sure every last soap sud is out
