When do you add fabric softner?
Question:downyballs don't work in my mini washer, nor do i have any real type of cycles
Answers:
You add it at the beginning of the rinse cycle, when the tub is filling with water. Mix it with some water, because if you drop it directly on your clothes, it could stain. You don't need to use as much as the manufacturer says - they just want to sell more. I usually use about 2 T per large load.
Also, do not use liquid fabric softener on anything that will later be used to absorb water, towels, dishtowels and diapers. Fabric softener makes fabric water repellent to a degree and these things won't do their jobs as well.
I discovered this when I was a young mom and was softening my babies' diapers to make them softer. My little boy was lying on his back, and the pee dribbled out the back of his diaper. It was kind of comical. I guess you had to be there.
Oh yeah, and as soon as you are able, buy a better washer.
You add the fabric softener after the first wash cycle
watch the wash and as soon as the rinse cycle goes on put the fabric softener in just that simple.
Best bet is to use the fabric softner sheets, if you don't have a rinse cycle. but if you do, add softner in this cycle. I prefer in the wash, rather than in the dryer. Those sheets have stained some cothing. Good luck
