Dishwashing liquid in clothes washer?
Question:Lazy man in my house been using dish detergent in the clothes washer as can't be bothered going shopping, it is a top loader.
Will this affect the washer in any adverse way?
Answers:
There shouldn't be a problem with it, I have been doing it for years...
Nah, just the cleaning of the clothes may not be bleached or whatever is in clothes washing soap. But at least there are no water spots and you can see yourself, right?
no it's fine. the only diff (mainly) with laundry detergent is the smell. seriously. the active ingredients in most soaps and mild cleaners are almost identical, just the pricing, packaging, and scent is changed
It shouldn't affect the washer. In some cases it won't make much of a difference.
But I definitely woulnd't use laundry detergent to wash my car. My cousins tried it on my uncle's car and it scratched the paint.
not a problem just remember"the more suds you have in the washer, the less effective the cleaning power of the detergent"
but,the chemical compond is not almost the same as mentioned above.clothes detergent is "caustic"dishwashing liquid is "anionic".(it's strong but mild).
I don't think there will be a problem. I use Dawn to get the grease out of my husbands clothes in the washer.
he must not be to lazy if he is even bothering to do the laundry. the clothes might need to go through the rinse cycle an extra trip, maybe someone who takes the time to write the complaint could run to the store for him, so he can do the laundry to suit you.
No soap but it is very costly compared to the price of a 1/2 gallon of laudry detergent.
