How do u straighten out polyester?
Question:My prom dress is 97% polyester..theres parts that are kind of wrinkled that i want to flatten out. How do i do that? I dont want to damage my dresss!! Can i iron it if i switch it to the linen button? or what other at home diy can i use?

You can iron it but put a towel over it so you don't burn it, have fun.
Put it in the corner, and tell it to behave itself! lol.. I actually dont know lol
Try steaming it. What I would do first is hang it from the shower rod, turn on the shower with hot water but face it so that it doesn't directly hit the dress, and close the bathroom door so that the bathroom gets all hot and steamy. Leave the hot shower going until the bathroom is all steamy, then turn off the water and leave the dress hanging. (Close the door behind you when you go back in!)
Now the dress should be damp but not soaking wet, so you can use your hands to pull the fabric firmly but gently in different directions, and smooth it out with your hands- pull a section out and smooth it with your hands, pull it taught in a different direction and do it again.
Then let it hang and slowly dry overnight or fluff it in a warm dryer and pull it out while it is still warm and immediately hang it up.
If this doesn't work, take it to a tailor or a dry cleaner and ask them to press it for you.
If you decide to iron it yourself, test the iron on a part that you can't see first. Linen is your very hottest setting, so be careful that you don't melt the fabric. Try a cooler setting for poly.
You can iron polyester, just don't use any heat, or the iron will burn right through the fabric.
