I have a pink dress I want to dye it black, how should I do this.?
Question:It's a polyester Bridesmade dress with satin straps
Answers:
polyester may not take a dye
check the label on the dye to see what material it will take to, then follow instructions on the pack
No
with black dye?
unfortunately it's impossible to dye polyester as it's a synthetic fabric, not a natural fabric like cotton. fabric dyes will only work on natural fabrics.
sorry...hope you find a black dress that you love in the stores
:-)
Don't do it, the black dyes never turn out right, I've done stuff for years, much to my regret, blacks look more like a dark gray. Take the dress to a professional, or you'll be sorry, remember I said that.
Best way i dye my clothes is throwing it in the washing machine with 3 boxes of black dye, you must use hot water let machine fill out itself once ready to wash throw your dress in and let the machine do the rest. All you need to do afterwards is start your machine and put javex in and no worries for next regular wash. Hope it was helpfull, but works every time for me
I don't think you will be able to dye polyester. It may take some of the color, but just end up looking a dirty grey.
