How do you get urine smell out of a matress that has been peed on alot?

Question:My brother-in-law ahs peed on this bed a few times and ti smells really bad and I need to make it smell good. How do I do this?

Answers:
The best thing you can do is replace the mattress. If that is not an option for you, then try using Febreeze.

It is time to get a new mattress. I bet the smell is obnoxious.
Put it out and let the sun hit it.
Honestly, I wouldn't try to get the smell out. I would just replace the mattress. Trying to get the smell out would be more trouble than its worth. And you can find mattress for pretty cheap anymore.
You can poop on it. that way it wont smell like pee anymore. It'll smell like poop instead.
Thats a tough question! Take it outside. Place baking soda all over it. Wait a few days, then brush the baking soda out. Spray it lightly with vinegar, (and i mean lightly) and wait a day or 2. The longer you can leave it outside, the better. Regards-Bob. PS You may have to repeat this a few times to be effective.
Natures Miracle makes a product for pet odors you could try, get it at a feed or pet store or on line. I've used it to get serious dog pee smells out of wood floors, car carpet and upholstry, etc. They also make a really good de-skunking product which I used on my dogs once a week a few summers ago when they found a skunks lair they couldn't leave alone...
Do you have a Jeff's Chem Dry in your area? It's a national franchise that does carpet and furniture cleaning. They use some kind of method that steam cleans but does not use as much moisture as other companies, therefore your stuff dries really fast. We used them for our carpet once and it dried super quick. I was really happy with it. They even claim to be able to remove pet urine odor, so I'm sure they could help you too. If you can't find them, maybe there is another option in your yellow pages. Call carpet cleaners in your area and find out.
if you don't want to spend a lot of money on replacing new mattress, long hours of sun exposure on the mattress will do good.
Get a new brother in-law.
Well, go to home depot buy a high powered heat lamp to use as the sun. Its hotter than sun will be on your mattress comming all the way from space so it will take less time thus not requiring "days" in sun.
A gallon of gasoline and a match would do it!
Seriously tho' pee is the hardest odour to eradicate!
Sadly to say, it's time to get another mattress, and perhaps consider using a mattress protector on the new one to prevent any further accidents spoiling it!
hope this helps ......Marg
Throw it away
Once I seen a man at the car wash with a mattress in the back of his truck he was spraying Clorox clean-up on it and then high pressure washing it. I asked him does that work- he said yep. Just let it sit out in the sun for a few days and keep turning it and will dry. He had a handicap son that wet the bed, too.

I would personally invest in a couple mattress pads (two on top of one another to prevent that) Buy about 5 or 6 of them and then just change them out. Then the bed wont get so smelly so quick. My ex-husbands mother did that with his mentally challeged adult brother. Hospitol supply stores sell them. Walmart had small ones for kids. My mother in law just took some from the hospitol her son frequented at. They where bad people- that's why their my ex-in-laws.
I would take all the sheets off the bed and sprinkle backing soda all over the mattress. I'd leave it there for a couple of hours and vacume it off.
