I have stainless steel sinks..I want to clean them and get them to?
Question:shine. I have bought a few things out there that say they do this and they do not! My house is on the market and my sinks are dull and drab, what can I do??
Answers:
I clean houses, and I use baby oil to really make stainless steel sinks shine.
soft scrub works like magic, and it won't scratch the surface. It will shine like new.
Clean them with a fine steel wool pad. Then use some oil base stainless steel polish on it. (or WD 40 will work nicely also)
I have used Barkeepers Friend, Bon Ami, and baking soda and lemon juice with good success...and there is a product by Kitchen-Aid that works on fridges and stainless stoves.
As a Realtors, we see the surroundings as much as the actual sink. Don't worry about a high polish on an older sink. As long as they are perfectly clean and the counters are clutter-free and shining, you should do do fine, especially if the house is priced right.
My answer has two advantages: first, it works; second, it's dirt cheap and you probably already own it. Sprinkle some baking soda around the bottom of your sink, put some white vinegar in a squirt bottle (like mayo comes in now) and a scrubby pad. Squirt the vinegar onto the baking soda and let it bubble for a moment or two, then attack it with the scrubby. Don't be afraid to give it a bit more vinegar if things dry up too quickly. Once you've finished, rinse off the whole thing and wipe dry with a clean towel.
Your sinks are guaranteed to sparkle.
mix a little baking soda with some vegetable oil and scrub. The baking soda gets rid of all the stains and the oil makes it shine and look brand new.
salt lemon juice and a Brillo pad .
If you use a towelling cloth soaked in vinegar, that should leave them sparkling... if that doesn't work, you can take a jug of vinegar and add a spoon of bicarbonate of soda - it will froth and foam, but cleans off anyhting with oil or grease content (wear kitchen gloves)
baking soda
