I need to connect my dishwasher to the water, but my washing machine is on it, what do i use?

Question:

don't use the self piecing taps, do it properly either by getting plumber in. If you don't want to go to that expense then your best bet is to turn off the mains water supply and fit a t piece on the cold supply then fit the standard washing machine tape onto it. The outlet hose can be fitted under the sink, if you don't have the right fittings for that, then you will need to buy a new sink waste kit from a DIY store (BAndQ do one) then all you have to do is sort out the electrics, which by law these days if there's not a socket close by, then you must get a electrician out.

you can get a 2 way spliter from most good diy stores
A plumber!
You can buy a splitter from the hard ware store to allow connection of two devices

Costs about twenty quid if I remember or get a plumber to put a new pipe in, again only about £40
What do you use?

I'm confused are you asking us which should you use? the dishwasher or the washing machine? if so..the washing machine.. dont want dirty clothes do we!
a double connector!
this whey both can be on.
You can buy a multi-position manifold--like this one:

You can go to Home Depot or Low,s and tell the plumber guy what you have and he should help all you need is a T That will allow you to hook up the dish washer, good luck
u need to use a pipe with two tubes a bit like a double adapter ; diy stores will have them for a couple of pounds.
Use a tee. That way both can be hooked up at the same time. Either your local hardware or appliance store should have one.
You don't even need a Tee! Get one of the self-piercing washing machine tap fittings (same fitting for both washing machine and dishwasher. Find a clear spot on the pipe to the existing connector where there is room for the new connector AND the pipe to the appliance. Turn off the water at the main stopcock! Lightly rub the pipe down with wire wool, position the tap fitting according to the instructions (washers / gaskets, etc) and tighten the nut. It will punch a hole through the pipe, and then form a watertight seal around the pipe. Turn the water back on. Check for leaks - if there are any, you haven't tightened the fitting enough. When satisfyed, connect the dishwasher up, and turn on the new tap. You should then be all set!
