What happens if I put regular dish soap in an automatic dishwasher?

Question:I just ran out of auto dish soap and was wondering if there is a way to use the plain dish soap

Answers:
you have a foam party, call up your friends and a DJ and dance the night away..

Good luck Amigo, your friends might be calling you "Bubbles" for a while.
You can use regular soap but it's not recommended. Also you should use very little because if use to much you will fill your kitchen with soap suds. Just wait till tommorrow.
The point has already been correctly made, regular dish soap is very - very sudsy. The dishwasher detergent has additives to keep it from foaming. Do the dishes by hand in the sink, or rinse them off and save them until you can go to the store.
Ummm, I'm guessing you'll have a kitchen full of bubbles, how much did you put in it?
From personal experience, yes, it is very sudsy and can make a HUGE mess and can also cause damage to your dishwasher.
Your better off just being the dishwasher yourself and wash them by hand in the sink.
you will get soap suds everywhere just the same if you used it in your washing machine SO DONT USE IT OK!
Get loads of towels ready for cleaning up lol
