How can I remove tile from my kitchen floor? I know it is a ton of work, I am hoping for hints.?

I'm assuming that this is a type of ceramic tile most commonly used today as opposed to the thinner vinyl tile. Once you have managed to break a hole through the tile surface, it is best to use a large chisel with a wide blade approx. 2 inches across. Be sure to take care and use eye protection as well as gloves because this material will fly every where. Using a hammer and the chisel work outward from your initial hole until you have enough of a hole made where you can then utilize a heavy bar (like a crowbar) to speed the process up. If it was me doing the removal, I wouldn't hesitate to use the heavy bar as this will greatly reduce the time spent on loosening the tile. Sounds like your going to have some fun.

I think you have to break it and then scrape it up. A good place to look for how to do this is to go to design or do it your self web sites. HGTV. com, if I'm not mistaken Home depot has a do it yourself center.
Get yourself a 4 inch wide chisel and a decent hammer and then put the chisel in the joint with the head slightly off the floorand give a it a decent tap, hopefully they will come off whole!
