Is there a way to get motor oil out of your clothes?
Question:
Answers:
Grease, oil, tar
Method 1: Use powder or chalk absorbents to remove as much grease as possible. Pre-treat with detergent or nonÂflammable dry cleaning solvent, or liquid shampoo. Wash in hottest water safe for fabric, using plenty of detergent.
Method 2: Rub spot with lard and sponge with a non-flammable dry cleaning solvent. Wash in hottest water and detergent safe for fabric. You can also use, Goop hand cleaner on the oil stain, just smear a dollop of the hand cleaner on the stain and wait about three hours then launder as usual. Good Luck !
You could try automotive hand cleaner. "GoJo" is a genric name for the product. An oil is an oil. My gf showed me this trick, by taking some of the cream and smearing it in directly on the affected area. Then wash with regular wash.
I've used 'Go-Jo' with excellent results. You might want to try it or another hand cleaner that mechanics use.
Hope this helps.
I used to get it out of ex's clothes by scrubbing it with Dawn dish soap and a brush.
"Goop," a white gel-type hand and laundry cleaner I find at Menards. It gets out old, oil-based stains well. Rub it in and let it sit a bit.
