How do you get grass stains off khaki pants?
Question:It is all over the knees of the pants and I am worried about washing it or putting bleach on it. Can anyone give any idea? Is it a lost cause?
Answers:
Try Liquid Triple action Oxyclean stain lifter.
I put a capful in most loads of wash I do.
I would also put some directly on the stain and let
it sit for at least 15 minutes. then rub the
pants legs together. Launder as usual, do not use
fabric softener in this load. Dry the pants on the line
or on a hanger in the bathroom. (Dryer heat sets stains.)
If the stain comes out, good, wash and wear as usual. If not,
repeat the above mentioned process, or try another tip.
I have used carburetor cleaner on paint, but I think that is a little harsh for grass stain. good luck.
Turn them into shorts and buy a new pair...sorry!
Shout! Spray the shout on the stains put the aside for about a couple of hours, then spray them again with the shout and wash them in hot water. This only works if they have not been tried. My little boy got grass stains on some of his khaki's. One time I had to repeat the process. But remember not to dry them until all of the stains are gone.
Stain Remover.
Take dawn dishsoap or a regular bar of soap and rub on the pants and let set for 30 minutes then put them in your washer with your detergent and add 1 scoop of oxiclean and let it go thru the whole cycle and it should come out and if it does not do not put them in the dryer as the dryer will set the stain more. Repeat the dish soap again!! You could make a paste out of oxiclean and apply it to the pants then wash!
I do this all the time. Go to the Dollar Tree and they sell a product called LA's Awesome and when you spray it on the clothes full strength it works great. If it leaves even a little stain, wash it again. It will come out.
