How do I get the dill pickle smell and taste out of a jar so I can use it to make Sun Tea?

Question:I've washed the jar and lid throroughly with detergent and even soaked it in bleach overnight but my tea still tastes like pickles!

Answers:
Use another jar, silly.

Pour boiling hot water in the jar & add lemon juice & vinegar. place a spoon inside the jar , this will stop it from cracking with heat, Then do the same again add salt and lemon juice , this should rid the smell
The best way to remove a pickle smell is to leave half a lemon in water for about a week in the jar. Lemon removes odours from many things. We leave half a lemon in the frig, makes frig smell nice. But it doesn't leave a lemon odour at all. Good Luck!
Before you make your tea, rinse the jar with lemon juice, then COLD water. The taste and smell will be gone.
I pour a capful of bleach into the jar with boiling water and a touch of dish soap and let it soak until water is cooled. Then I rinse it thoroughly with HOT water until the smell of bleach is gone (maybe 4 or 5 rinses). :)
By the time you get through your supply of tea trying different things, you could've bought a good-sized glass jar. Go check out your local thrift store. You might be surprised!
