Any hints on how to tell dark brown and black socks apart in the drawer? Can't tell 'til I get in the sunligh

I have the same problem - can't turn on the lights or I wake my wife. I keep a pen light in the sock drawer.
Keep them in separate drawers,LOL! It is hard to do in dim light!
hey.. i'll tell you a pretty clever way.. a lady i clean for is a neat freak.. (( i say that in a loving way)) but anyway.. she takes zip lock bags. and writes on the outside of the bag and says... "socks" "bras" etc.. etc.. you get what i'm saying.. anyway.. separate your socks .. put them in zip lock bags and write.. " black socks" .. "brown socks." .. good luck!

When you separate the socks after doing laundry, join the black socks in pairs with a clip, before putting them in the drawer.
Keep the brown and black socks are opposite sides of your sock drawer maybe?
easy. grab three socks from the drawer. two of them are bound to match!
put all the brown ones on one side, or in the front, put the black ones in the back.
