Does anyone know how to get armpit stains out in the wash??
Question:My t-shirts seem to get hard and caked on in the armpit area after a while. I'm pretty sure it is deodorant caking on, but I can't find anything to get it out.
Answers:
My daughters soccer jersey had nasty pit stains. I soaked it in Oxyclean and Era, then scrubbed it more with Era, then washed it and out they came, along with ink and other set in stains.
white vinegar
Oxi-Clean should get it out. I haven't found a set in stain yet, that it can't remove.
Try a product called "Natures Miracle"...mainly for removing pet stains and odor...but I have used it on laundry stains for years.
You can buy it in pet stores and feed&grains.
Pour on and let sit for 30 minutes and then wash.
If the old stains have been through the dryer..may not come out..dryers set in the stains.
I've found that shout actually works. My spouses shirts do the same. Try spraying some Shout on it and let it set in, then put it in the wash.
I would try products specifically designed to remove stains such as a stain remover called "Shout".
If that doesn't work, you may have to get in the habit of wearing a t-shirt under a dress shirt to try and avoid this problem.
Use Zout or a pre-spot stain remover before every wash. If the shirts are white, use clorox bleach pen to spot treat the area also.
Mix equal parts of ammonia and laundry detergent and pour it onto the stains. Allow it to soak for 30 minutes, then scrub it with an old toothbrush or scrub brush, and toss it into the wash. Wash them in the washer with the hottest water that is safe for the fabric along with a good laundry detergent.
If it doesn't work, do not put the shirts into the dryer yet. Try the process again, soak stains in ammonia/detergent, scrub the stains and wash them. If after two rounds of this, the stains have not budged, I would apply Clorox 2 color safe bleach. Let it stand for just 5 minutes, scrub it with your scrub brush then wash it with some good detergent. If the Clorox 2 doesn't get the stains out, you'll have to buy new shirts.
Best of luck to you. Take care.
Hello Wabuzzi, Well the best way I have found, and can suggest to you is this, The good old fashioned soap bar, soap. You can buy this in your local hardware store, Just ask for soap bar soap for washing clothes ,sure they will know what you mean. So , soak your T.shirt in cold water, rub the soap in to the stains. Leave the T-shirt with the soap on, free from water.Say 1/2 should be enough. Then back to the cold water give a rub, add more soap , leaving the soap on. pop into your washing machine on a 40Âșc wash, When washed , hang outside in the sun, the sun will do the rest of the work for you, by bleaching out any remaining stains , the natural way . Always works for me
Disgusting. You are an idiot.
