A way to get the stank out of shoes?
Question:Ok, this is gross. I have a pair of sandals I have that kinda stink like stinky feet. Can I do anything besides throw them out?
Answers:
we all got stank shoes at one point in time or another.
How to wash really depends on what they are made of
If you need to be on the safe side, you can sprinkle them with Baking Soda & let that sit several days & then dump the Baking Soda out
There is another person who recommends this... I have done this untold number of shoes with good results
If this is a last-ditch effort to save the shoes then I would consider Odo-Ban (the other poster Recommends Pine-Sol) followed by a water rinse & then allow to dry for 3-4 days
The person who said buy 2 pair and alternate is correct... this allows your shoes to breathe & they will last a whole lot longer. the other area of consideration as it relates to stink-shoe is the question of what the shoe is made of
Vinyl doesn't breath & will get really stinky
Leather less likely to get stinky
Wash your feet.
at night put baking soda inside the shoes....do it a couple days ..then if all else fails wash them in washer with hot water and half cup pine sol...my 4yr old has that stanky shoe prob and the pine sol works good and baking soda even better
You have sandals that stink. You have very old sandals that you have worn a lot. Get two new pair of sandals and alternate them so one pair has a chance to breath with foot powder while you are wearing the other pair. This will more than double the life of your shoes.
soak them in vinegar - a lot of vinegar at least a half a gallon - overnight
no promises, I have really bad foot odor too - and I soak my shoes in vinegar also and it seems to help for a while, and then I have to do it again a few weeks later, because my feet stink them up again.
