How can I stop white fluff sticking to black clothes?
Question:I have a pair of black jeans and a black polo shirt that every time they go through the wash seem to become magnets for attracting fluff, hair etc. Is there a way to stop this?
Answers:
1 before washing black wipe the drum out with a damp cloth
2 make sure all pockets are empty
3 turn all clothes inside out before wash
4 only wash dark coloured items
5 use a posder for coloureds
6 get a lint roller and run down clothes when dry.
this really should solve the problem, i can't think of anything else that can be done.
Have you tried turning them inside out before you wash them ?
Or wash them two items just on their own.
I had the same problem with my daughters school cardigans but now i turn them inside out and the problem has been resolved :)
Failing them suggestions you will have the get the sellotape out and start dehairing your top I am afraid .
you could go to asda or your local store and pick up a roller with sticky paper on it. it takes fluff away like nothing on earth lol but it works
Wash them alone and use a fabric softener sheet in the dryer. You will probably still have to use a lint brush but not as much as when you wash them with other garments.
Don't wash black items with anything that's fluffy or light colored like towels, sweaters, socks, or washcloths.
be sure to only wash darks with darks and lights with lights
you might still have some linty specks but it will be a lot less then if you throw dark things in with disintegrating fluffy white socks! not that I am accusing you of doing this, but in case you do...
wave your magic wand and say "hocus pocus alakazam!"
or use a lint roller..
ask it nicely to leave your clothes alone
no seriously get one of those sticky roller things, my friend uses one all the time because their cat is malting.
Dont put your black clothing in the wash with any other colour or fluff producing laundry also fabric softener stops static cling which may help in keeping fluff off your clothes.
only wear white clothes
Lint roller . Get 'em at doller store or walmart
Prevent lint from clinging to clothes by adding 1/2 cup white distilled vinegar to the wash or rinse cycle.
