What is the best way to clean a black gas stovetop?
Question:It has baked on gunk that I just can't get off. I tried SOS pads, vinegar and baking soda... soaking it all night.. which was the best, but it still has that crud on it. Looks awful. Does it need to be re-painted perhaps?
Answers:
Your best bet is to go to a local WalMart and buy a handheld steamer cleaner or find one on QVC, HSN, anywhere.
The steam cuts the hard baked and burned on crud and you just wipe it away. Not only does it clean, it steralizes the area from bacterias building up that could be dangerous to your health. It leaves a shine and does not hurt the stove top at all.
I use a straight razor, it works great and doesn't affect my surface
Alright now this is my department. No!! You don't have to repaint. Take some Oxy Clean and let it soak all night, that'll loosen it up, then take some pine-sol, and that'll take the rest of the gunk off...
I bought some type of oven cleaner stuff one time that helped clean my stove.I tried everything and I never found anything that worked very well. I have moved but the new homeowner told me that she bought replacement parts in stainless.
Mr. Clean Magic Erasers may also help, those things are amazing.
Any oven cleaner
