How do I get wax out of a fleece jacket?
Question:I have tried ironing it over a paper bag and also a kitchen towel, some came out but not all, now there is a kind of shiney circle there. I also tried freezing it, then scraping off with little success. Any ideas?
Answers:
The idea is that the iron melts the wax and the paper towel absorbs it. You may have to repeat a number of times to get it all. But it should work.
try googling it. have fun hehe
You can get wax remover from large hardware shops and from Homebase. Church suppliers also sell it. Read the instructions carefully.
Did you try a blow dryer on high then dab at it? Might work.
You could attempt using plain paper and an iron, it should stick to the paper, repeat process if need be. Good luck!
Stop picking your ears.
Try gently combing it in a bowl of boiling water - obviously be careful not to scald yourself. If the wax has a sufficiently low melting point, it should start to loosen and the comb should work it free.
This is only theory, I can't claim to have actually tried it, I'm afraid.
Run the spot under scalding hot water in your sink, it will melt right off. Then wash as usual. :)
A product called Goo Gone will remove the rest of the wax on your fleece jacket. Good Luck !
did you put the brown paper over the fleece? then iron? thats the way it should be done, and may need to be repeated a few times
Try ironing it using a brown paper bag instead of a kitchen towel I remember my Father doing this and it worked.
